Short data messages

Short Data Messages consist of 23 free-formatted data bytes for individuals and talk groups.

The short data service is real time with positive receipt acknowledgement as part of the call set-up. SDMs can be used as either a data-only service or a combined service with the voice package per radio.

Standard Reporting
A monthly access charge for a network-wide data-only service applies. An additional monthly charge for a reporting rate of one SDM per hour will give you 1000 SDMs per month as the Standard Quota. Unlimited status calls are free of charge.

Medium Reporting
This popular service is available at a monthly access charge for a network-wide data-only service. An additional monthly charge for use of one SDM every half-hour will give you a convenient Medium Quota of 1800 SDMs per month. Unlimited status calls are free of charge.

Prime Reporting
A monthly access charge will give you network-wide data-only service. An additional monthly charge for one SDM every 15 minutes will give you a Prime Quota of 3200 SDMs per month. Unlimited status calls are free of charge.

Monthly Access Charge
For this combined service, the access charges for the Voice Services apply, and they can be combined with any one of the SDM packages (Standard, Medium or Prime Reporting).
