The project team began deploying 900 Sepura SC2020 walkie-talkies to operational users across the municipality, a large-scale undertaking resulting from meticulous planning and close coordination with key partners. This ambitious project aims to improve communication capabilities and contribute to a safer, more accessible, and more liveable Rotterdam for all its citizens.
This week saw substantial progress, with the majority of devices exchanged for colleagues in Public Order and Safety and Accessibility. These advanced devices will replace older systems, offering enhanced functionality and reliability.
Deployment will continue at other Rotterdam locations in the coming days, with the project team aiming to complete the full transition to the Sepura SC2020 for all municipal communications by December 2024. This technological advancement represents a significant investment in the city's ability to serve its residents and maintain a safe and thriving urban environment.
